Through our partnership, and the work of the VPP’s core programme team, we provide strategic leadership, coordination and training for our local response to Serious Violence under the umbrella of the Serious Violence Duty.
The Serious Violence Duty places new legal requirements upon named local authorities/organisations. The Police and Crime Commissioner maintains the oversight function, ensuring local organisations and partnerships are compliant, using our partnership model.
We are committed to driving the whole-system change that is needed to truly embed public health approaches which prevent violence at its root cause.
We convene a diverse range of statutory partners, the voluntary sector and our local communities. We aim to drive the cultural and financial sustainability of these approaches for the long term.
